A guided option
The volcanoes and Blue Lagoon day trip from Reykjavík is rated 4.6 out of 5 from 799 reviews on 8 November 2026; the price depends on the date and the group. It suits a hike on the Reykjanes peninsula, which is also where the Blue Lagoon lies.

Tips
- Walking on the lava is strictly forbidden, because the crust may be thin over hot lava; stay on the marked paths, as subsidence and sinkholes have been seen near "The bridge between continents". Gas pollution is still possible in the eruption area; levels can be checked at loftgaedi.is. Grindavík is open but the area remains hazardous because of volcanic unrest: crevasses may appear, so stay on paths and know where the exits are, since evacuation sirens sound if the threat level rises. Choose Path C for a short outing and Path E only if you can walk 5 to 6 hours; for a planned day with a car, see how to get around Iceland and the Blue Lagoon.
