Practical info

Tips

  • Parking is paid by licence plate through Parka: ISK 1,080 for a car of one to seven seats per 4 hours, ISK 2,500 for a van of 8 to 21 seats, ISK 400 for a motorcycle, plus an 89 ISK payment fee; you can pay online up to 24 hours after leaving, and an unpaid stay adds ISK 1,960. At Geysir, a few minutes away, the car fee is ISK 1,080 per 8 hours, so each stop is paid separately. A tour includes the stops and the driving in one price, while a car lets you stay longer at each; the choice is explained in Golden Circle tours compared.
